With its integrated conical burr grinder and dosing control, The Breville Barista Express bes860xl delivers the optimum path from espresso bean to thick crema in less than two minutes. Non-pressurized cafe style single-wall filters allow for experimentation of grind size, grind amount and tamping pressure to explore the art of espresso. Pressurized dual-walled filters help beginners by delivering smooth crema every time. The integrated tamper with magnetized lock in storage allows you to tamp to your preference while attached to the machine or the counter. This is not a super automatic machine as you still need to manually mount the portafilter and clean the filter afterwards.

- Need to heat up cups with water cycle or microwave.
- To get a hot cup of espresso you need to preheat cup and the porta filter by running a hot water cycle.
- Oily beans do not slide well in grinder. Grinder hard to clean.

This is about as automatic (rated a full) as I prefer. I like some control over my coffee which I get with this Breville Espresso Machine and don’t get with a super auto. I used the Illy beans in the Breville Barista Express BES860xl. Using the Breville Barista Express bes860xl is a convenient, easy way to make a espresso!

If you are looking for a espresso machine that needs some hands on with the coffee process you will like the Breville Espresso Machine – Barista. It is a fully automatic but not the super auto. The users feedback is very positive. I feel this is a exceptional machine that makes great coffee products and I love the big water tank. My choice for fully automatics.
